  • Attractions: Arniston, Kassiesbaai, De Mond Nature Reserve, Southernmost Tip of Africa

The Cape Agulhas Tour is one of our most popular day trips. We leave early in the morning in order to reach four unique destinations in one day. We carry on South to De Mond Nature Reserve with its hanging bridge and river mouth, enjoying lunch with the wide variety of bird life.

This is followed by a drive to the Southernmost tip of Africa, Cape Agulhas, where the two oceans meet and a visit to the historic lighthouse for coffee and cake. Conquer your fear of heights as we climb right up to the rotating light for a magic view.

De Hoop Nature Reserve

De Hoop Nature Reserve is one of the best kept secrets in the Overberg. The reserve offers a full day of crowd-free, secluded game viewing (we can stop anywhere we find something of interest, with options to safely leave the vehicle for a better look), and a chance to explore the world’s smallest and most threatened plant kingdom, the Cape Floral Kingdom, with fynbos being the dominant vegetation (over 34 species only grow in this reserve).

The marine protected area (especially Koppie Alleen, where we stop for lunch) is said to be the best land-based whale watching area in South Africa, with over 120 individual whales coming here to calve and mate every year. Other activities include hiking trails (De Hoop is part of the famous Whale Trail), mountain biking and rock pool snorkelling.

Robertson Wine Route

Safely away from the commercial crowds, our trip starts in Robertson and winds down to Bonnievale, covering as many farms as you can taste. The unique dry climate of this region, together with the lime-rich soil, contribute to the high quality of white (specifically Chardonnay, Colombar and Sauvignon Blanc) and red wines, as well as sparkling Cap Classique wines.

Plan your trip according to taste or simply sit back and enjoy our tour of award-winning farms such as Springfield, Bon Courage, Viljoensdrift, Van Loveren, De Witshof and Weltevrede.

Outside Bonnievale we stop at the Parmalat Dairy Factory for cost price cheese, milk, yoghurt and ice cream.

Join us for The Wine and Food Festival every October.
